Lee (2008) developed a Malaysian reading assessment tool aimed at assessing dyslexia.

In her study, she tested 117 first graders using 10 sub-tests, including word reading, spelling, and phonological awareness.

The study identified key factors in reading: phonological decoding, phonological naming, comprehension, and verbal memory.
